Goodbye My Gypsy Lovers

Last month I left my beloved Auld Reeky Edinburgh, my closest friends, and my beautiful family, moving on with my partner Kim to Australia.  This recording from my phone was my farewell to all I leave behind.  It's a song by Dave Malloy from Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812.  The recording is so rough but I think it captured the emotions I was feeling at the time.

Since moving here I have heard some desperately sad news that an old friend from college has passed away.  As I listen to this recording again today I'm reflecting on the good times Liam and I had together in college and sending my love to those who were far closer to him than I was.  He was a funny, charming, welcoming, handsome and talented man.
