“soulful kenosis”
I am a Scottish composer, musician and songwriter currently based in Perth, Australia. Since completing my Masters in Composition at The University of Edinburgh, I have turned my hand to many creative fields, focusing mainly on original musical theatre.
My first complete musical A Gentleman’s Game was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016, and soon after I was invited to showcase my work to industry leaders in Edinburgh and London.
In Australia I’ve collaborated with companies producing some of the most exciting work in Australian theatre, including scores for Lakespeare’s productions of Richard III, As You Like It, and Songs and Sonnets - a show devised around the pairing of my original songs with Shakespeare Sonnets. My most recent collaboration with Sport For Jove on their feature film Venus and Adonis, further showcased my ability to write music compatible with the richness of Shakespearean language.
I am currently working on a new musical titled ZERO, exploring the legacy of journalist John Hersey and the bombing of Hiroshima.
